I had a lovely stay and the spa treatments were heavenly, especially the relaxing facial and soothing body scrub. The only downside was that our double room overlooked the car park, but it didn’t ruin the experience for us. I highly recommend trying the breakfast, it was delicious! 😊

Charming room with attentive service

I stayed in a spacious Junior Suite with a wonderful view over the square, which made my experience delightful. The staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive throughout my stay, especially at breakfast, where the service was excellent. it would have been great to have a dog bed or a little gesture for my pet, considering the extra fee they charge for pets.

the royal hotel has a lovely and clean superior double room. it’s right in the centre, making it super convenient. the bar and dining area are stylish and inviting. breakfast was really good, and the staff was beyond friendly. especially loved that it’s dog-friendly throughout! such a great touch!

Nice mix of comfortable furnishings and a charming buzz about the main areas. The location is prime for exploring the local charm, with parking conveniently available on the Market Square, albeit with some restrictions.

Unfortunately, the room was freezing cold upon arrival, and the heating didn’t seem to do the trick. breakfast service faltered—my poached eggs were far from softly cooked, and there were no toiletries available unless I ventured out of the bathroom, which isn’t ideal. Lastly, the noise from the room above was bothersome. I could hear every footstep as if the guests were right next to me.

Had a fantastic time with my friends! We hiked up Beacon Fell for those stunning views and enjoyed a leisurely walk along the Leeds and Liverpool canal where we could hire boats. Perfect after the night’s rest and a filling breakfast to recharge us for more exploring. Great location, lovely rooms.

This place suits me perfectly, with amazing wi-fi, a cozy bar area, and delicious in-room breakfast. I remember the staff offering me a cold drink during my first stay. Highly recommend trying the local beer in the bar!
